This project aims to undertake a comprehensive review of how eye care (optometric and ophthalmological) is organised across the UK.
There is currently insufficient information about the full range of eye healthcare pathways/delivery models across the UK. A complete listing of such schemes and models would be a valuable resource and would also inform future research to compare different models of eye healthcare. In particular, the potential to compare models of service delivery and different care pathways would be useful.
Clearer information about the roles played by optometrists in different areas and under the various delivery models would also be of great interest and relevance.
The Survey was piloted in the West Midlands, the results of which are now being collated. Check back here for further information in the future.
