2011 - 2014 Strategic Themes

We will concentrate our work during this period under the four themes below.

We will create a sense of shared purpose by co-ordinating the work we undertake under each theme to reflect the key issues affecting optometrists in a fast changing health care environment.

  • Theme 1: Supporting members and engaging with all optometrists.
     
  • Theme 2: Engaging with patients and the public.
     
  • Theme 3: Working in partnership with others to influence the delivery of eye care.
     
  • Theme 4: Providing an evidence-base for good practice.

We will continue to underpin our work with a robust organisational focus,
ensuring good governance, efficiency, effectiveness and continuous improvement in all that we do. Our members will be at the heart of our work and we will be outward looking so that we can secure the confidence and support of Government, other health professions, patients and the public for the profession of optometry.
