This month the College issued an alert to the media highlighting the importance of eye health and safety when lighting and watching fireworks. This gained national coverage in the Daily Star, The Scotsman, MSN.co.uk and Yahoo! with a further 18 pieces of regional coverage to date.

Other pieces of national coverage this month included an article by the Daily Mail on the impact of excessive use of visual display units on the eyes, and information on the potential health risks of using out of date eye make-up was featured in The Sun in a piece about the unlikely places where you can find potentially harmful bacteria.

The College has also graced the pages of several consumer lifestyle magazines with eye health pieces appearing in Yours, Woman’s Weekly and Prima magazine.
